Greetings NCS Families,

We hope everyone is staying safe and enjoying the holiday season!

We would like to thank all of our NCS families for their support this past year. We were able to run a safe and successful five week program out of our Jetties Sailing Center from mid-July through mid-August. We saw 128 enrollments in our youth programs and taught nearly 200 private lessons over our 5 weeks of operations. We were also able to offer kayak, paddleboard and sailboat rentals throughout the season.

We look forward to building upon the lessons learned and successes in 2021. We plan to open registration for 2021 programs in the new year. We plan on running one-week programs, and offering private lessons and rentals, once again. Important dates:

Monday, January 4, 2021: 2021 Scholarship Application will be emailed to Island-Resident Families. Applications are due by 5pm EST on Friday, January 22, 2021.

Monday, January 25, 2021: 12pm EST - 2021 Early Program Registration will open for Island-Resident Families AND Families with 'Rollover Funds' from 2020 on our Active Network Camps and Class Manager Platform.*

Wednesday, January 27, 2021: 4pm EST - 2021 Early Registration will close.

Monday, February 1, 2021: 12pm EST - 2021 Program Registration will open to the general public.

Monday, February 8, 2021: 12pm EST - Online booking for private lessons will open on our Jetties Sailing Center website. (Bookings for rentals will open in June.)

*If you rolled 2020 funds over to 2021, and register during Early Registration, no payment will be due. 2020 Funds Held, and scholarships (for Island Residents), will be applied. An email with any remaining balance will then be sent to you. If you rolled 2020 funds over to 2021, and register on or after February 1st, full payment will be due and a refund will be issued.

Stay tuned for important email blasts regarding our 2021 programs over the next few months, including an email regarding your child's class placement. PLEASE NOTE: We have created three 2021 Program Models. We plan to open our most conservative program model on January 25/February 1. This model will look similar to our 2020 model, but run over 8 weeks. We will hope to add additional programming (Guppies, Whalers, 420 Programs) as we are able later in the spring. Our goal is to once again accommodate as many students as possible, while abiding by Local, State and Federal Guidelines, as well as our own ability to keep our students and staff members safe. We feel encouraged by our successes this past summer and we appreciate your patience as we try to plan for the summer season. We will communicate with you regularly and ahead of opening these programs online, so you will know when to expect them.

Please do think of Nantucket Community Sailing when you shop this holiday season. We have great stocking stuffers and gifts available for family members, including Jetties Sailing Center memberships, for those already looking ahead to warmer weather. Our JSC memberships - offering access to lessons at reduced rates and free rentals - proved to be the perfect summer activity for many families last summer!
