Dear Friends, Family and Members of NCS,

NCS is very excited to announce that our Women's Clinic program has officially opened!  As we did in 2010, NCS will be offering two nights of Women's Clinic a week - one for our Beginning sailors (Tuesday's) and another for our more advanced sailors (Thursday's). The evening clinics will run from 5:30 pm - 7:30pm, beginning on June 28th through August 25th, rain or shine. 

The Tuesday night's clinic will be oriented towards introductory sailing concepts and is intended for our beginner sailors, or those sailors who may be looking to enjoy a more recreational approach to sailing. The Thursday night clinic will be oriented towards more advanced sailing concepts and beginner racing techniques and is intended for those students who may be looking to "take the next step."

For those of you who are new to NCS's Women's clinic; the clinic is designed to specifically give adult women, of all levels, the opportunity to learn to sail or to refine previous sailing skills at the Jetties Sailing Center.  A focus is placed on teaching and reviewing the fundamentals, as well as Introducing students to the basics of racing. Key goals of the class include building confidence and ensuring that students are comfortable on the water.  Classes are taught primarily in Rhodes 19s or Marshall 15s with an instructor and 2-3 students on each boat. Our 34' J-105 keelboat will be used, when available, for instruction as well.  In case of foul weather there will be a "chalk-talk" and on-land instruction will still take place.  For a full description on the Women's Clinic please visit our NCS website by clicking here.

Clinics are filled on a first come first serve basis.  Once a clinic is "filled," you will be able to register for the Wait List through the NCS Website's registration.  We no longer accept waitlist registrations over the phone.  If you clear from a session, NCS will contact you through the contact information you have provided within your registration.  

Due to Nantucket Race Week there will be no Women's Clinics on August 16th and 18th, 2011.  However, there will be a Women's Fun Sail held on Tuesday August 16, 2011.  This event is not included in the NCS Women's Clinic Registration or Membership.  More on how to register for this event will be coming soon.
