A pursuit race is planned. There will be a check-in boat stationed outside the Jetties at 9:00am and all competitors are requested to check in by the stern of the check-in boat prior to heading to the starting area.

Description:

Entry is open to wooden yachts with hull material of wood or wood-based cold molded with a minimum LOA of 24 feet. Yachts having any composite or carbon hull material may be eligible to compete in the Invitational Division. Spinnakers are not allowed.

The Opera House Cup uses the Classic Yacht Owners Association Divisions: Vintage, Classic, Modern Classic, and Spirit of Tradition. In addition, there may be One Design divisions, if there are 4 or more boats of the same class, such as Alerion, Concordia, 12 Metre, or Wianno Senior. There may also be a Schooner Division.

The Invitational Division is for historic or replica boats that do not have a wood or cold-molded hull, or are designated as Contemporary on their CRF rating certificate, or do not otherwise meet the OHC eligibility requirements but add to the spectacle of the regatta.

All registrants must have a 2025 CRF rating, which can be completed online at classicratingformula.com.

There will be a Classic Yacht Exhibition on Straight Wharf and a "Brewery Night" party at the Nantucket Yacht Club on Saturday, August 16. Tickets for these events are limited and will be available on the Nantucket Race Week website.

Fees:

Registration Fee: $450, which includes two event tickets and two drink tickets to the OHC Awards Party on August 18. $170 of your registration free is a tax-deductible charitable contribution to Nantucket Community Sailing. Additional tickets for the OHC Awards Party may be purchased at the time of registration.

Late Fee: $100 after June 15, which is a tax-deductible charitable contribution to Nantucket Community Sailing.

Awards Party:

Awards will be presented at the Opera House Cup Awards Party at Jetties Beach on Sunday, August 18. The party starts at 6:00pm and the awards ceremony will start at 7:30pm. Results will be posted online.
